Sources: Barnsley, Huddersfield & Sheffield Wednesday chase Britain’s tallest player Hudlin

Barnsley, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday are in the hunt to sign Solihull Moors forward Kyle Hudlin, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The 6ft 9in giant, who is the tallest outfield professional player in Britain, scored 10 goals in the just-completed season.

A source has told Football Insider all three Yorkshire clubs have been keeping close tabs on the 20-year-old’s progress.

Hudlin has enjoyed a remarkable rise to the National League and was playing Sunday league football for Boldmere Falcons during the 2019/20 campaign.

He then signed for Solihull United in March 2020 before coronavirus curtailed the season.

However, after netting a hat-trick in just his second game, he earned a move to Solihull Moors last October.

The Englishman netted his first goal for the club against League Two play-off finalists Morecambe in the FA Cup a month later.

He found the net a further nine times in 32 National League games.

Hudlin still has a year left on his Moors contract but recently told the Sun he has aspirations of playing in the Champions League.

Sheffield Wednesday are in the market for a new striker as they prepare for life back in League One.

They were relegated on the final day of the Championship season as they released Jordan Rhodes.

As first revealed by Football Insider, he then signed for former club Huddersfield Town on a three-year deal.

Meanwhile, Barnsley failed in their bid for Premier League promotion after losing to Swansea City in the play-off semi-final.

In other news, Tottenham don’t want a big name who started their last five games to play for the club again.
