Sources: Big update on Crystal Palace appointing Graham Potter after new development
Graham Potter’s attendance for Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday (20 January) is not an indication he is set to take over at Selhurst Park, sources have told Football Insider.
Potter was spotted in the crowd at the Emirates Stadium for the heavy loss, which has piled more pressure on Palace boss Roy Hodgson.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month (1 January) that Hodgson will “100% leave” Selhurst Park when his contract expires at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
But with just one win in Palace’s last 12 games, club chiefs may yet accelerate plans to replace the 76-year-old.
And while Palace do have Potter on their radar, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that there is “nothing immediate” to read into his presence at the Arsenal loss.
Potter, 48, has been out of work since April 2023 following his sacking at Chelsea.
The former defender has been one of Europe’s most in-demand managers ever since and has been linked with the Man United job in recent months.
Potter’s most successful period as a manager came at Brighton, Palace’s bitter rivals, where he won 43 of his 134 games in charge.

It is believed the Englishman will feature highly on Palace’s ideal shortlist once Hodgson moves on, but it remains to be seen whether he is interested in taking the role.
Chelsea sacked Potter last year after just 31 matches in charge – of which he won just 12.
