Odsonne Edouard is willing to bide his time until the summer to get a big-money transfer from Celtic, Football Insider understands.

But that does not mean a January transfer has been lined up for Edouard as Celtic's 10-in-a-row dream crumbles.

A Hoops source has told Football Insider that Edouard is not in a rush to quit Parkhead and would rather secure the best move for him professionally in the summer.

The club's prize asset recognises his best chance of landing a plum move to a leading Premier League or European club would be an excellent second half of the season for Celtic.

Edouard's future has come under the spotlight after Football Insider first broke the news on 6 January that Edouard had switched agents to London-based Stellar Group.

The agency's clients include Gareth Bale, Jack Grealish and Kieran Tierney, who became Celtic's record sale when he joined Arsenal for £25m in 2019.

Edouard, 22, also has Premier League ambitions and has had interest in the past from the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United, Leicester City and Aston Villa.

But even the top clubs are not willing to spend big this month and that has reduced the options for the prolific France Under-21 international.

Edouard has had a mixed season that has failed to reach the heights of his outstanding 2019-20 campaign in which he won the Scottish Player of the Year award.

He has scored 11 goals from 23 matches this season but was one of the 'Covid 13' missing from Monday's draw against Hibernian.
