Sources: Bolton, Barnsley and Peterborough in race to sign West Brom forward Jovan Malcolm

West Brom forward Jovan Malcolm is a January loan target for Bolton, Barnsley and Peterborough, sources have told Football Insider.

Baggies boss Carlos Corberan and his backroom team have been impressed by the 20-year-old and they believe a loan move would be best in the next stage of his development.

League One trio Bolton, Barnsley and Peterborough have all registered their interest in Malcolm.

West Brom

West Brom have yet to decide which club Malcolm should join as they weigh up the potential destinations.

Malcolm has been training regularly with the first team this season after catching the eye for the club’s Under-21s in Premier League Two with 10 goals in eight starts and three assists.

The forward is yet to make a senior appearance for the Baggies but has had two loan moves away from the club.

He first moved to Accrington Stanley in August 2021 after signing a new three-year contract at The Hawthorns.

However, after only starting four games for Stanley in all competitions during the first half of the campaign he was recalled by West Brom in January 2022.

One month later, he joined Solihull Moors on a one-month loan deal but only made two appearances for the club, accumulating 46 minutes of football.

West Brom

West Brom currently sit ninth in the Championship after experiencing a remarkable turnaround in form since the appointment of Corberan.

The Baggies are next in action against Chesterfield in the FA Cup on Saturday (7 January).
