Sources: Bournemouth defender Owen Bevan agrees Hibernian move – announcement imminent

Hibernian are set to confirm the signing of Bournemouth defender Owen Bevan on loan before Thursday’s (1 February) transfer deadline, sources have told Football Insider.

Bevan, 20, spent the first half of the season on loan at Cheltenham Town before returning to Bournemouth earlier this month.

The centre-back is poised to become the third player to swap Bournemouth for Hibs in the winter window.

Emiliano Marcondes and Nathan Moriah-Welsh have already headed to Easter Road due to the recent investment of Bournemouth owner Bill Foley into the Edinburgh club.

The Premier League club are looking to take full advantage of that new connection by developing their young talents in the Scottish Premiership.

Bevan is highly rated at Bournemouth and penned a new deal at the Vitality Stadium just last year, keeping him at the club until June 2026.

He made 14 appearances on loan at Cheltenham earlier this season before seeing his agreement cut short by the Gloucestershire side due to injury.

But the centre-back is on the comeback trail and is set to experience top-flight football in Scotland with Hibernian.

The youngster’s only other taste of senior football came in a spell at non-league Yeovil Town, where he made 31 National League appearances and scored one goal in the 2022-23 campaign.

Hibernian sit seventh in the Scottish Premiership and are six points adrift of a potential European qualification place.
