Sources: Bournemouth to accept ‘£60m’ bid as Tottenham accelerate move

Tottenham are advancing a move for Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi, sources have told Football Insider.

Sources say that a bid in excess of £60million will be very hard for the Cherries to turn down, and could see the Ukrainian complete a move to North London.

Zabarnyi was heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the summer, but Spurs have now emerged as the frontrunners to land his signature.

Bournemouth are desperate to keep hold of the centre-back, as they don’t want to lose yet another key player after the departures of Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid and Milos Kerkez to Liverpool.

Tottenham could overpower Bournemouth for Zabarnyi

After the difficult summer they’ve had so far, Bournemouth are increasingly reluctant to accept offers for Zabarnyi.

The 22-year-old started all but three league games for Andoni Iraola’s side last season, and was an incredibly important part of the defensive unit.

Bournemouth secured their highest-ever Premier League points total of 56, on their way to a ninth-place finish, and Zabarnyi was a constant presence throughout the campaign.

However every player has their price, and if Tottenham really want to lure the Ukraine international away from the south coast, then a bid of over £60m will likely be enough.

Gibbs-White makes transfer decision

Meanwhile, Morgan Gibbs-White has his heart set on joining Tottenham this summer after talks over a move away from Nottingham Forest, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on 18 July that Tottenham are still expected to sign Gibbs-White after he was supposed to undergo a medical at Spurs last week.

However, Forest accused Tottenham of making an illegal approach to Gibbs-White, having never given permission for the talks, and threatened to take legal action as a result.

As far as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are concerned, that deal is now off, but there is a growing feeling that the current protests are only delaying the inevitable.
