Sources: Brentford have two bids rejected by Nottingham Forest for Brennan Johnson
Brentford have seen two offers rejected by Nottingham Forest for long-term target Brennan Johnson, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed the Bees have tracked the 22-year-old for around two years and remained keen on his signature even after Forest’s promotion to the Premier League.
Brentford’s latest offer for Johnson has been rebuffed – with Steve Cooper’s side believed to be holding out for a huge-money fee.
Everton and West Ham have also been linked with a move for the Wales international following his promising first Premier League campaign, while Tottenham have also been keeping tabs on him.
It is believed Forest boss Cooper is keen to build his side around Johnson as he looks to turn the Midlands side into a force to be reckoned with in the coming seasons.
The forward signed a fresh four-year contract at the City Ground last year (2022), keeping him at the club until June 2026.
Johnson helped Nottingham Forest to top-flight survival in the 2022-23 campaign, notching 10 goals and three assists in 44 games across all competitions.
He came through the ranks at Forest, making his debut aged 18 in 2019 – and has gone on to make 105 appearances for the club, scoring 29 goals and registering 12 assists.

Cooper’s side have completed deals for Anthony Elanga, Ola Aina and Chris Wood ahead of their first game against Arsenal on 12 August.
Meanwhile, Brentford have already signed Nathan Collins, Kevin Schade and Mark Flekken this summer as they prepare to face Tottenham in their season-opener on 13 August.
