Sources: Brighton respond to Nottingham Forest interest in Jack Hinshelwood

Brighton view Jack Hinshelwood as one of their “best-known prospects” and will firmly block any offers from Nottingham Forest for his services.

Fabian Hurzeler is accustomed to receiving intense attention from major clubs for his brightest stars as sources told Football Insider that Liverpool view Yankuba Minteh as a potential Mohamed Salah successor.

The latest player to be pursued by the Seagulls’ Premier League competitors is Hinshelwood, who continues to show great promise down on the south coast.

Despite Hinshelwood struggling with injuries for Brighton, his upwards trajectory has caught the attention of the Garibaldi who are looking to continuously strengthen their squad.

Out of the question that Brighton would ‘entertain’ an offer for Hinshelwood

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 20-year-old’s consistent performances have piqued the interest of Sean Dyche.

Given Elliot Anderson could leave Nottingham Forest for a hefty fee in the near future, it is possible that Hinshelwood is seen as a replacement in midfield.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “I don’t think Brighton would even entertain selling Jack Hinshelwood.

“I think he’s still a key player for Fabian Hurzeler’s side. He’s obviously had a few injury issues this season as well, but he bounced back last weekend [22 November] with a goal against Brentford for Brighton.

“He’s such a versatile player, can play anywhere across the midfield. He’s slotted in at right-back as well.

“He’s such a versatile performer that I think he still has a big role to play for Brighton with the contract running until 2028.

“I don’t think Brighton would have any plans to sell him even if Forest did firm up any interest. I’m sure they would get a very polite ‘no’ that Hinshelwood’s not for sale and the player is happy at Brighton as well, Brighton are very happy with him.

“I don’t see any move for Hinshelwood in the near future and Forest might have to look elsewhere if they’re to strengthen their squad in January because Brighton won’t want to lose one of their best-known prospects.”

Nottingham Forest to go back to drawing board as they scramble to identify Elliot Anderson replacement with exit inevitable

With the Garibaldi’s number eight in such high demand, it is no wonder Dyche is urgently looking for a new midfielder, given he could be sold in the upcoming transfer windows for a lucrative fee.

Former Red Devils chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Man United are very keen to sign Anderson as Ruben Amorim looks to bolster his midfield.

Similarly, Liverpool also have a vested interested in Anderson, reflecting how in-demand the Englishman is right now.

Moreover, with Man City adding to the list of suitors for Anderson, it is no surprise Forest are eager to cash in, provided they can source a competent replacement.
