Sources: Bukayo Saka edges closer to record-breaking Arsenal deal

Bukayo Saka is edging closer to agreeing a record-breaking Arsenal contract, sources have told Football Insider.

The 24-year-old’s current deal with the Gunners expires at the end of the 2026-27 season.

Sources say that talks between the club and the player are progressing well, with Saka likely to pen a new contract in upcoming period.

It could make him the highest-ever paid player at the north London club, with his wages expected to rise to over £300,000 per week.

Across a potential five-year deal, that would be worth over £75million, even before taking into account performance-related bonuses and other inducement triggers that will be included.

Arsenal continue to secure new contracts

Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League after a superb start to the season, which has seen their new signings settle in well.

The Gunners are working hard to keep star man Saka at the club for as long as possible, as they aim to win their first league title in 21 years.

Arsenal have also tied William Saliba down to a new deal, which follows contract extensions for the likes of Gabriel and Ethan Nwaneri.

Keeping the current members of their squad is just as important as bringing in new blood, and Mikel Arteta’s side are working hard to do just that.

Bukayo Saka to become Arsenal’s top earner

According to Capology, Arsenal’s highest earner at the moment is Kai Havertz, on £280k per week.

However, once Saka signs his new deal with the Gunners, he will become the club’s best-paid player, reflecting his status as the most important member of the team.
