Sources: Burnley plot move for Ajax sensation Sontje Jansen
Burnley are plotting a move for Ajax winger Sontje Hansen this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 20-year-old forward is out of contract at Ajax this summer and could leave the Dutch giants on a free transfer at the end of the season.
A number of clubs across Europe are keeping tabs on Hansen’s availability with Premier-League-bound Burnley big admirers of the versatile wide man.
The Championship leaders already have one foot in the Premier League after building an 11-point lead in the second tier of English football.
Vincent Kompany is already planning ahead for the summer transfer window, and the Clarets boss is keen to add more creativity and goal output to his side.
Hansen fits Kompany’s ideal profile for a wide player, and the Belgian boss is now pushing the Burnley board to get the deal over the line.
Hansen has only made two senior appearances for Ajax and has primarily played his football in the Under-21s side in Amsterdam.
He has scored four and assisted three goals in 23 appearances for the reserves Jong Ajax side.

Hansen won the Golden Boot at the Under-17 World Cup in Brazil in 2019 while representing the Netherlands, and he made his first-team debut for Ajax later that year in December 2019 in a KNVB Cup match.
His second senior appearance came just four days later in an Eredivisie match against ADO Den Haag.
