Sources: Callum Hudson-Odoi tells Chelsea he wants to quit amid £70m reveal

Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi has told the club he wants to leave, sources have told Football Insider.

This forward, 21, has made his feelings clear as the Londoners ramp up their efforts to lure Anthony Gordon.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday afternoon (16 August) that Chelsea are readying a new bid for Gordon of up to £50million after having their initial £40million offer rejected.

Hudson-Odoi is frustrated by his lack of game time under Thomas Tuchel and wants to join a team where he can be a regular starter.

He has not featured in either of the opening two Premier League matches and is well down the pecking order.

Two years ago, he was valued at £70million by Chelsea, when they rejected multiple bids from Bayern Munich.

Hudson-Odoi was an unused substitute in the 2-2 draw with Tottenham on Sunday (14 August) as Ruben Loftus-Cheek filled in at wing-back.

He last started a Premier League game for the club in January after struggling with an Achilles injury towards the end of last season.

Even if Gordon does not move to Stamford Bridge, Hudson-Odoi has been pushed down the pecking order by the arrival of Raheem Sterling.

The three-time England international has two years left on his contract after signing a long-term deal after Bayern Munich’s initial interest in 2019.

The London-born ace has scored 16 times and provided 22 assists in 126 games across all competitions for Chelsea.

In the Premier League, he has only found the net four times in 72 appearances, including 32 starts.
