
Sources: Cardiff City forward Isaak Davies in advanced talks to agree new deal
Cardiff City attacker Isaak Davies is poised to sign a new contract with the club, Football Insider understands.
The winger, 20, who has come through the ranks at Cardiff, is regarded as one of the best young talents to emerge at the club in recent years.
A Cardiff source has told Football Insider that the club are keen to tie Davies down to a long-term deal to fend off growing Premier League interest and an agreement is close to being reached.
The Wales Under-21 international’s current deal runs until 2023.
He has made 22 appearances in all competitions and chipped in with two goals and three assists after making his first-team debut this season.
Davies joined the club aged seven and made his first-team debut against Middlesbrough on 23 October 2021.
His first senior goal came against Preston in the FA Cup on 9 January and he also impressed in the next round of the competition.
The youngster played 32 minutes at Anfield as his side crashed out of the FA Cup with a 3-1 loss to Liverpool on 6 February.
However, he marked his appearance by providing the assist for Rubin Colwill’s goal.
Davies has also represented Wales at Under 17, Under 19, Under 20 and Under 21 levels.
Cardiff sit 18th in the Championship as it stands.
They face QPR at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on Saturday (5 March).
