Sources: Cardiff City mull over deadline-day Murphy offers as exit on the cards

Cardiff City have received multiple loan enquiries for Josh Murphy as they weigh up letting him go by tonight, Football Insider understands.

A number of Football League clubs have expressed an interest in taking the winger, 26, before the window shuts.

A Cardiff source has told Football Insider that the club are mulling over the offers for Murphy as he is currently not in Mick McCarthy’s plans.

He is under contract in south Wales until next summer and a season-long loan exit would take him to the end of his deal.

Murphy has not featured in the Championship this season but has scored once in two Carabao Cup appearances.

Mick McCarthy took over at Cardiff in January and Murphy was initially a key part of his side.

The former England Under-20 international scored twice and provided two assists in six Championship games in February.

McCarthy then signed a new two-year deal with the club the following month.

However, Murphy has made just three league starts since.

The Welsh club have signed Ryan Giles on loan from Wolves this summer and he has hit the ground running.

Giles has provided four assists in five Championship games this season so far.

Murphy moved to Cardiff from Norwich City in the summer of 2018 and has racked up 99 appearances across all competitions.

He has scored 14 times and provided 11 assists in that time.

In other news, a Premier League club was lining up a £7million bid for a Cardiff City star.
