Sources: Celtic in advanced talks to sign Adam Idah after overnight development

Celtic are in advanced talks to sign Norwich City striker Adam Idah, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the Hoops are attempting to secure the 22-year-old on a late deal from the Championship club and a full agreement is near.

Well-placed sources told Football Insider that Idah is keen on a move to Parkhead this month and a breakthrough is close following overnight talks between the clubs.

Negotiations are set to resume today (31 January) and the deal is expected to be completed before the transfer window closes.

Idah has been prolific for the Canaries this season having bagged seven goals across 34 appearances in all competitions.

He has been at Norwich his entire career and has scored 17 goals and provided four assists across 115 total appearances.

The Hoops are eager to add to their attack this month following the signing of Nicolas Kuhn from Rapid Vienna on a five-and-a-half-year deal for a reported £3million.

Idah has made regular appearances for the senior Republic of Ireland national team and has made 20 appearances since his debut in September 2020.

Celtic could see further outgoings before the end of the window, with Football Insider revealing last week (22 January) that they are ready to accept an offer for goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist amid interest from across Europe.
