Sources: Celtic to accept Scott Bain offer – multiple English clubs want him
Scott Bain is set to leave Celtic this summer after more than five years at the club, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed that Scottish sides are showing interest in the 31-year-old goalkeeper – as well as clubs from England’s second and third tier.
Celtic are laying the groundwork for a new shot-stopper signing this summer by scouting a number of potential targets.
Bain is the existing Hoops goalkeeper set to be sacrificed in order to free up space for a new arrival.
He has failed to play a single senior minute this season but has been a regular feature on the Celtic bench.
The three-time Scotland international is under contract at Parkhead until May 2024 after signing an extension last summer (2022).
Celtic’s squad currently boasts four senior goalkeepers, with first-choice star Joe Hart flanked by Bain, Benjamin Siegrist and Conor Hazard.
Hart has been in formidable form this season despite his advancing years, playing 41 of the Hoops’ 43 games and keeping 17 clean sheets in the process.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have leaked only 14 goals in 30 Scottish Premiership matches in the 2022-23 campaign.
Bain was a regular in the Celtic team prior to the arrivals of Hart and Postecgolou and tussled with Vasilis Barkas and Craig Gordon for a place in the side.
He has racked up 74 appearances for the club in total since joining from Dundee in 2018, keeping 38 clean sheets.

The shot-stopper’s last season at Celtic is likely to prove another successful one, with Postecoglou’s side in pole position to seal back-to-back league titles.
The Hoops have also tied up the Scottish League Cup and could complete the treble with the Scottish Cup in the latter stages of the season.
