Sources: Celtic’s new formula for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi deal revealed
Celtic could be set to miss out again in their pursuit of Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi as they remain some way short of the Eagles’ demands.
Celtic attempted to sign Rak-Sakyi on loan during last summer’s transfer window, but ultimately missed out before he joined Turkish outfit Caykur Rizespor.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Palace are insisting on an £8million obligation to buy in any deal for the 23-year-old.
Celtic, however, are only willing to offer a straight loan deal as they do not want to commit to any future transfers before their next permanent manager arrives.
That could see the Hoops miss out on his signature, after Football Insider revealed that Stoke City also want Rak-Sakyi and could move quickly to agree a deal.

Celtic a way off Crystal Palace’s Jesurun Rak-Sakyi demands
Football Insider revealed on 16 January that Rak-Sakyi’s proposed move to Swansea had fallen through after they could not convince him to move.
That has provided Celtic with the opportunity to make a move for a player who they have long admired, as he remains a top winger target for them.
However, they remain a way off Palace’s demands with the obligation to buy proving to be a key sticking point which could see them miss out again.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Yeah again he’s a player that Celtic have looked at for a while. They considered him in the summer but weren’t able to get a deal done.
“The problem for Celtic right now is they would prefer a loan with no obligation in the deal.
“Crystal Palace are insisting on that if he is to go out on loan again this window, they want an obligation included in that loan deal of around 8 million pounds which Celtic are not willing to do.
“Celtic don’t want to commit to any permanent deals in this January window because that might be the new manager will not fancy any potential players.

“So yeah, there’s a bit of a sticking point between Celtic and Crystal Palace on this one.
“I think right now it’s probably looking more likely that he will leave Crystal Palace but obviously that obligation as part of the loan is the sticking point for the interested clubs.”
Celtic set sights on David Datro Fofana deal
A new wide man is not the only target for Martin O’Neill’s side in the closing stages of the transfer window, as they are also targeting Chelsea’s David Datro Fofana.
Football Insider revealed that Celtic are among the admirers of Fofana as they aim to sign a striker in the window’s closing stages.
He is currently on loan at Turkish outfit Fatih Karagumruk, but could find his deal terminated early in favour of a permanent move elsewhere.

Football Insider revealed on 17 January that Chelsea plan to accept offers for David Datro Fofana as he is unlikely to play a role in their long-term plans.
The Chelsea forward is not the only name on Celtic’s radar, while they are not his only suitors, but a move to Scotland could be beneficial for his career.
