Sources: Chelsea plot Dusan Vlahovic raid as Juventus could be forced to accept offer

Chelsea have shortlisted Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic as they target an out-and-out striker this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Sources have told this site that the Blues are “desperate” for a new forward signing during the off-season.

It is believed that Vlahovic could become available at the end of the 2022-23 campaign amid financial uncertainty at Juventus.

The Serbia international has managed eight Serie A goals in 14 outings as a regular starter this season.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (27 February) that Chelsea are also weighing up a move to bring Roma striker Tammy Abraham back to the club this summer.

Victor Osimhen is also wanted by the Stamford Bridge club – but they are aware it will take a huge fee to prise him away from Napoli.

This site revealed on 14 February that Romelu Lukaku will not return to Chelsea next summer as Inter Milan plot another loan next season.

Lukaku’s departure has left the Blues without a clinical first-choice striker, with Kai Havertz often leading the line for Graham Potter’s side this season.

Havertz has managed just six goals in 32 appearances across all competitions this term.

The last player to score 20 league goals for Chelsea was Diego Costa – who managed the feat in the 2016-17 season.

The signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has not had a positive effect on the Blues – and the former Arsenal striker is set to be bombed out of the club less than 12 months after signing.

Aubameyang has managed just three goals in a Chelsea shirt across 19 appearances in a bit-part role.

The Blues are now 14 points adrift of the Premier League’s top four after their 2-0 loss away at Tottenham on Sunday (26 February).

Graham Potter’s job is under threat ahead of the clash with Leeds United on 4 March.
