Sources: Crystal Palace forward John-Kymani Gordon agrees Carlisle United deal

Crystal Palace forward John-Kymani Gordon has agreed a deal to join Carlisle United on loan, sources have told Football Insider.

The League Two promotion hopefuls have beaten off interest from a number of League One and League Two clubs to land the teen sensation.

Carlisle have had their loan offer for Gordon, 19, accepted and he has been granted permission by Palace to complete the move for the rest of the season.

It is a major boost for Carlisle, who have fended off competing interest from Lincoln, MK Dons, Burton and Leyton Orient.

Gordon is highly regarded at Palace and was rewarded for his progress with a new contract last month.

The forward has been named in several Premier League squads this season after scoring 11 times in his first eight games of 2022-23, which earned the September Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

Gordon has been at Palace for over a decade and signed his first professional deal in the summer of 2020.

He then signed an extended deal last month, that was announced by Crystal Palace on 21 December.

Gordon demonstrated his versatility last term in the club’s youth set-up, playing all across the front three though he has mainly been used as a left winger this season.
