Sources: Danny Ings agrees personal terms with West Ham

Danny Ings has agreed personal terms with West Ham as their bid to lure him from Aston Villa edges closer, sources have told Football Insider.

The striker, 30, is in talks to join the Hammers before the window shuts, with the two clubs believed to be discussing a fee of around £10million.

Our sources add that contract terms between Ings and West Ham are not a problem, with all parties confident that it won’t hold up the deal.

The final decision now lies with Aston Villa as they decide whether or not they want to offload the experienced forward to a Premier League rival.

Ings has scored six Premier League goals in 18 appearances this campaign, making him Villa’s top goalscorer this season.

However, his game time has considerably dropped since the arrival of Unai Emery as manager in October, with Ings still yet to complete a full 90 minutes under the Spaniard.

Ings is only one goal away from matching his goalscoring record from last season when he scored seven and assisted six times in his first season at Villa Park.

Prior to his Villa move, Ings led the line for Southampton where he scored an impressive 41 goals across three seasons – including a 22-goal haul in the 2019/20 campaign.

West Ham

West Ham are in desperate need of goals having only scored 15 in their 19 Premier League matches so far.

Only Wolves have scored less than David Moyes’ side this season.
