The door has opened for Everton to sign Adama Traore as Barcelona plan to reject a permanent deal, Football Insider has learned.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Barcelona have not been convinced by the Spanish winger, who joined on loan from Wolves in January.

Tottenham

There is an option to make the transfer permanent in the summer but the Catalan giants have let it be known to the Premier League club they are not planning to trigger it.

That is a boost to Everton, whose director of football Kevin Thelwell is a big admirer of Traore and lured him to Wolves as a club-record signing in 2018.

Thelwell was announced as the Toffees' new director of football on 25 February.

The winger has failed to score in 15 appearances for Barcelona after getting off to a respectable start.

He registered two assists in his first two outings for the club, including one in a 4-2 win over Atletico Madrid.

However, Traore's game time has diminished in recent weeks, failing to make it off the bench in four of the club's last eight league games.

This came as Barcelona's title challenge lost pace and they crashed out of the Europa League at the quarter-final stage.

Everton

Everton have signed three wide players this season with Andros Townsend, Demarai Gray and Anwar El Ghazi all joining.

El Ghazi joined on loan from Aston Villa in January but has only played 11 league minutes for the Toffeees.
