Sources: Everton in hunt to sign Adama Traore amid Barcelona update

Everton are eyeing Barcelona loanee Adama Traore as a potential replacement for Richarlison, Football Insider has learned.

This site revealed last Sunday (17 April) that Richarlison has told his agent to help him seal a summer transfer.

An Everton source has told Football Insider that Traore, 26, is being monitored as a wide attacking target.

New director of football Kevin Thelwell is a big admirer of the blisteringly quick Spain international and lured him to Wolves as a club-record signing in 2018.

Traore joined Barcelona on loan from Wolves in January and there is an option to make the move permanent in the summer.

Everton are keeping tabs on the situation and could make a move if the Catalan giants opt not to keep him.

The ex-Villa and Boro man enjoyed a brilliant start to life at the Nou Camp.

However, his game time has diminished in recent weeks with Ousmane Dembele, Ferran Torres and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the preferred front three.

Traore was in and out of Wolves manager Bruno Lage’s starting XI prior to his move to Barcelona.

His contract at Molineux expires at the end of June 2023.

Wolves will look to cash in on the winger this summer rather than lose him on a free 12 months later.

Everton are planning a total overhaul of their squad this summer.

As revealed by this site (19 April), the Toffees will listen to offers for star duo Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed a group ‘loathed’ by fans can help Everton close ‘£100million’ gap on the elite.
