Sources: Everton forced to accept Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana offers after latest development

Everton will be forced to sell first-team aces Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana if the club are found guilty of their latest financial breach, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking to the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the cash-strapped Toffees will have to sacrifice the high-value pair to make improvements across the squad.

It is believed that their fresh charges have not impacted the club’s January transfer plans as they were always expected to utilise the loan market rather than recruit permanent additions.

However, the club will have to sell key players to raise funds for signings in later windows.

Everton were charged with breaching Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules for a second time on Monday (15 January) following the release of their accounts from 2022-23.

If found guilty, Sean Dyche’s side could have another points deduction levelled at them following their 10-point sanction in November.

Both Branthwaite and Onana have attracted interest across Europe following their excellent displays in the Toffees’ tumultuous season.

As revealed by Football Insider earlier this month (7 January), Everton have slapped a £60million asking price on Amadou Onana in January with Arsenal exploring a potential deal this month.

Meanwhile, Branthwaite is of reported interest to European juggernauts Real Madrid as well as Premier League giants Man United and Tottenham.

However, sources told Football Insider (18 January) that the club are “very confident” that they can successfully defend this second financial breach using a loophole in Premier League regulation.
