Sources: Everton last-gasp two-man signing plan revealed

Everton are still searching for a wide man and a centre-back as the 1 February transfer deadline approaches, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed the Merseysiders have no scope for permanent arrivals amid the financial chaos at Goodison Park.

However, loan deals could get moving if players are to leave in the coming days.

Centre-back Ben Godfrey is wanted by both Leeds United and Genoa and a well-placed source has told Football Insider that Everton are open to letting him go.

Sean Dyche does not want to weaken his squad and will be expecting to dip into the market to replace Godfrey if he seals an exit.

Meanwhile, Arnaut Danjuma could be allowed to leave and find a loan move elsewhere if Everton can find a new winger.

The Toffees have been searching for a new face throughout January with Danjuma wanted by Lyon in Ligue 1.

Godfrey has managed just three appearances across all competitions this term, playing 180 minutes in total.

Meanwhile, Danjuma has made 18 appearances across all competitions for Dyche’s side so far this term – scoring twice.

Everton have won just one of their last five top-flight games and sit 17th in the Premier League.

The Toffees are next in action in the FA Cup fourth round against Luton Town on Saturday (27 January).
