Sources: Everton make move to sign Anthony Elanga as asking price revealed
Everton have registered their interest in signing Man United star Anthony Elanga this month, sources have told Football Insider.
The forward, 20, is growing increasingly frustrated by his lack of game time at Old Trafford and that has opened the door to a potential January exit.
It is believed Everton have made an enquiry for Elanga but face competition to land him from Premier League rivals.
The Merseysiders are in the market for a forward to bring greater cutting edge to their attack.
The £18million-valued Sweden international has started just six times for Man United this season after his three-goal breakthrough campaign in 2021-22.
He was a substitute once again for their 1-0 Premier League win over Wolves on Saturday and came on with just a minute remaining.
Frank Lampard’s main issue this season has been finding the back of the net, with only Wolves and Nottingham Forest scoring less than Everton’s 13 goals this season.
Defensively the Toffees have been impressive, with only five teams conceding fewer goals than the 20 they have shipped this campaign.
Richarlison’s exit in the summer is proving to be a costly loss, with summer signing Neal Maupay unable to replicate the goals provided by the Brazilian last season.
Anthony Gordon has also suffered a dip in form, leaving Everton with a lack of creativity and output from wide areas.
