Marco Silva wants to ship out Everton striker Cenk Tosun and use the proceeds towards signing a top quality centre-forward this summer, Football Insider understands.

The Portugese manager has made up his mind to sell the Turkey international permanently after overlooking him in favour of Dominic Calvert-Lewin for most of the campaign.

A source close to Everton has told Football Insider that Silva will have to make up much of his summer transfer kitty through player sales and he regards Silva as an expendable asset.

The 27-year-old join the Merseysiders for £27million last year but has failed to live up to expectations.

Tosun has scored eight times in 41 games for the club, but has not netted in the league for Everton since last October and has just three goals from 27 appearances this season.

Calvert-Lewin, 22, has emerged as Silva's favoured spearhead and his all-round game has developed impressively this season.

Everton are in the market for a new striker who can provide competition for the young Englishman and, as revealed by Football Insider, the club have shortlisted Chelsea ace Tammy Abraham, who is thriving on loan at Aston Villa, and another prolific scorer in this season's Championship.
