Sources: Everton to listen to offers for centre-mid who’s excited Ancelotti in training

Everton are to listen to offers for midfielder Beni Baningime this summer despite making a strong impression in training this month, Football Insider understands.

The DR Congo youngster, 21, has failed to make any first-team headway at Goodison this season after seeing a move to Danish side Brondby collapse last August.

An Everton source has told Football Insider that Baningime is set to move on in the next window, either permanently or on loan.

There has been interest from clubs in Europe, including in Holland.

Carlo Ancelotti has been impressed by Baningime’s efforts in first-team training in recent weeks and he could even make the matchday squad for next week’s Premier League return against Liverpool.

The likes of Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph and Tom Davies are ahead of the academy product in the central midfield reckoning.

But Baningime could still secure a place on the bench for just the third time in the Premier League this season.

He has yet to have any senior minutes to add to his 12 first-team appearances this season despite a midfield injury crisis.

Even serious injuries to Gomes and 2019 summer recruit Jean-Philippe Gbamin did not change the thinking of Ancelotti’s predecessor Marco Silva.

Ancelotti is more open to creating a pathway from the academy to the first team and has spoken especially warmly of teenage attacker Anthony Gordon.

Baningime has a contract at Goodison that runs for two more years until the summer of 2022.

In other Everton news, a defender at the club has been told to find a new club after hamstring blow.
