Sources: Ex-Celtic star Ntcham arrives at Swansea for medical and talks

Swansea City are in advanced talks to sign Olivier Ntcham on a free transfer following his Celtic exit, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The French midfielder has arrived at the Championship club’s training ground for a medical and to discuss personal terms.

A Swansea source has told Football Insider that the club are hopeful of completing the signing of Ntcham by the 11pm cut-off.

He ended his four-year spell at Celtic earlier this month.

Football Insider first revealed on 22 May the Scottish giants had decided to terminate his contract before it was confirmed in August.

The 25-year-old had been involved in Ange Postecoglou’s first pre-season at the club before he was let go.

Ntcham spent the second half of last season on a nightmare loan spell with Marseille after he was frozen out under Neil Lennon.

He managed just six appearances for the Ligue 1 side.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas revealed after Ntcham’s arrival the club had signed him against their wishes.

The former Spurs and Chelsea boss was then sacked for criticising the club.

Ntcham scored 24 times and provided 13 assists in 147 games across all competitions in his four-and-a-half years at Parkhead.

He could be seen as a replacement for Matt Grimes at Swansea, although he is more attack-minded.

Football Insider revealed earlier today (31 August) Fulham are submitting an improved bid for the Swansea captain.

They already had multiple bids rejected and are set to come back with a new offer in excess of £2.5m to try and persuade the Swans to sell.

In other news, another Celtic player has agreed a move after a £3million bid is accepted.
