Sources: Four more West Ham first teamers could be leaving

West Ham are preparing for a “changing of the guard” as they plan their summer transfer business, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the Irons will look to refresh their squad if they secure Premier League survival this season.

West Ham will need to trim their squad if they are to add players in the off-season, following their mammoth reported £170million spending spree in the 2022-23 season.

On-loan left-back Arthur Masuaku became the first player to exit the club on Monday (17 April) after Besiktas activated his obligation to buy.

Football Insider revealed later that day to reveal that West Ham will receive a fee of around £1.75million for the long-serving defender.

Meanwhile, right-back Vladimir Coufal could also quit the London Stadium after interest from Bayer Leverkusen last summer (2022) and in January.

Coufal’s contract is set to expire in June, but the Irons have the option to extend his stay by a further two years.

A well-placed source has also told Football Insider that the future of Aaron Cresswell is also in doubt as he enters the twilight years of his career.

Like Coufal, Cresswell is out of contract at the London club at the end of the 2022-23 season.

Tomas Soucek is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract despite extensive negotiations.

Soucek has just over 14 months left to run on his reported £65,000-a-week deal at the London Stadium.

Meanwhile, Pablo Fornals – who is out of contract in June 2024 – has struggled for a place in David Moyes’ starting eleven of late and could exit the club in the off-season.

West Ham

West Ham sit 15th in the Premier League and have pulled four points clear of the drop zone following their draw against Arsenal on Sunday (16 April).

The Londoners face a Europa Conference League quarter-final second leg against Gent on Thursday (20 April) with the tie finely poised at 1-1.
