Sources: Harry Kane tells Tottenham board who should be next manager
Harry Kane will have a big say in the appointment process of the next Tottenham manager, sources have told Football Insider.
The North London side are desperate to keep the 29-year-old striker at the club this summer and are willing to pull out all the stops to convince him.
It is understood that Spurs have promised Kane that he’ll be allowed to influence their managerial search as part of his contract talks.
The board have promised to keep in contact with Kane regarding their search for a new manager, agreeing to take his opinion on board.
Football Insider sources first revealed that Spurs had opened contract talks with Kane in February, with the club eager to get negotiations underway early.
Kane’s current deal expires in 2024, and Tottenham are growing increasingly worried about losing him for free if they aren’t able to extend his stay.
It is understood that Kane could be tempted to stay at Tottenham, but the identity of the permanent replacement for Antonio Conte is key.
The Tottenham board are mindful that Kane would prefer a more attack-minded manager in charge to keep him happy in North London.

A lack of Champions League football could make keeping Kane and hiring a world-class manager very difficult for Tottenham in the summer, ad they have dropped out of hte Premier League’s top four after back-to-back losses to Bournemouth and Newcastle United.
Despite Tottenham’s struggles, Kane has still managed to 26 goals in all competitions this season.
