Sources: Hibernian now in advanced talks to sign Bournemouth star Owen Bevan
Hibernian are in advanced talks to sign Bournemouth defender Owen Bevan on loan before Thursday’s (1 February) transfer deadline, sources have told Football Insider.
Bevan, 20, spent the first half of the season on loan at Cheltenham Town before returning to Bournemouth earlier this month.
The centre-back is now poised to become the third player to swap Bournemouth for Hibs this month.
Cherries duo Emiliano Marcondes and Nathan Moriah-Welsh have already headed north of the border.
Bournemouth owner Bill Foley is reportedly close to securing an initial minority investment of £6million in Hibernian, adding to his multi-club portfolio.
The Premier League club are looking to take full advantage of the connection by developing the likes of Bevan in the Scottish Premiership.
He made 14 appearances on loan at Cheltenham earlier this season before seeing his agreement cut short by the Gloucestershire side due to injury.
Bevan is now on the comeback trail and is set to join Hibernian until the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
The 20-year-old’s only other taste of senior football came in a spell at Yeovil Town in the 2022-23 season, when he made 31 National League appearances and scored one goal.
Bevan is under contract at the Vitality Stadium until June 2026 after penning a new deal just last year.

He made two first-team appearances for Bournemouth last term totalling 24 minutes of action.
Hibernian are sixth in the Scottish Premiership and are six points adrift of a potential European qualification place.
