Sources: Hill undergoing Bournemouth medical today after Fleetwood accept bid

Fleetwood Town defender James Hill is set to undergo a Bournemouth medical on Wednesday after the two clubs agreed a deal, Football Insider understands.

The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the best young talents in the Football League and is an England Under-21 international.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Hill is set to join for a fee of around £1million.

He has been lined up to fill the void left by Steve Cook’s departure at Bournemouth and will undergo medical tests before putting pen to paper.

Cook, 30, has moved to Nottingham Forest after making just four appearances for Bournemouth this season.

Hill, son of former Preston North End and Bristol City defender Matt, has played over 50 times for Fleetwood but is out of contract at the end of the season.

He made his debut in August 2018 and has now established himself as a key member of the side.

His performances have not gone unnoticed as he earned his first England youth call-up earlier this year.

Hill scored once in three games for England Under-20s which led to a call-up to the Under-21s in November.

He has been out injured in recent weeks as Fleetwood battle to maintain their League One status.

Bournemouth are trying to win promotion back to the Premier League and currently sit top of the Championship, four points clear of third-place Fulham who have two games in hand.
