Sources: Huddersfield Town plot move to sign Birmingham City star Neil Etheridge
Huddersfield Town are plotting a move to sign Birmingham City’s Neil Etheridge this month, sources have told Football Insider.
The Yorkshire club are in the market for a new goalkeeper with regular starter Lee Nicholls facing a long-term spell on the sidelines after recently undergoing shoulder surgery.
Etheridge, 32, has been limited to just two appearances in all competitions for Birmingham this season with John Ruddy the first-choice keeper at St Andrew’s.

The former Fulham and Cardiff shot-stopper could be tempted by a Huddersfield move in search of regular first-team football.
Etheridge started for the Blues in their midweek FA Cup win over Forest Green and proved his quality with an impressive triple save.
But domestic cup competitions have been the only opportunities available to Etheridge this season, with John Eustace yet to give him any match minutes in the Championship.
Etheridge made 64 Championship appearances for Birmingham in his two previous seasons at the club, keeping a total of 17 clean sheets in that time.
The experienced shot-stopper also boasts Premier League experience from his time with Cardiff City.

Etheridge spent three years with the Welsh club which included one season in the top flight – he kept 10 clean sheets and played every minute of the campaign.
He also boasts an established international career with the Philippines having made 70 senior caps for the nation as well as being appointed captain in 2022.
In other news, Mick McCarthy is expected to arrive in Blackpool imminently to finalise his managerial appointment.
