Sources: ‘Huge’ Dejan Kulusevski update ahead of Tottenham showdown v Arsenal

Dejan Kulusevski is on course to make his eagerly-anticipated Tottenham comeback against Arsenal in Sunday’s derby, sources have told Football Insider.

The Sweden international, 22, has missed the last two Spurs matches due to injury after missing nearly two months of the autumn with a thigh problem.

Kulusevski is recovering well and it is believed he is in contention to start the home clash against Mikel Arteta’s high-flying visitors.

That will be a huge boost for Tottenham, with Richarlison still out with a hamstring injury and not as well advanced in his recovery.

The Swede has made a big impact for the Londoners since joining last January and is a massive favourite with supporters.

Rodrigo Bentancur is also making good progress in his own recovery from injury and could also make his comeback against Arsenal.

The 25-year-old Uruguayan picked up an injury in his country’s final group game at the Qatar World Cup.

Bentancur has been a key player for Antonio Conte this season, starting 13 of the 14 Premier League games he has been available for.

The midfielder has also discovered a goalscoring touch.

Having only scored four goals in his senior career before joining Spurs, he has five in all competitions this season.

Kulusevski has made 10 appearances in the league this term with eight of those being starts.

However, he has only scored once, on the opening day of the season against Southampton.

Tottenham face Arsenal having won 3-0 in the same fixture last season.

The Gunners won the first North London Derby of the season 3-1 back in October.
