Sources: Hull City line up beat-the-deadline move for Brentford star Marcus Forss

Hull City are lining up a beat-the-deadline move for Brentford striker Marcus Forss, Football Insider understands.

New manager Shota Arveladze has made striking reinforcements his main priority before Monday’s transfer deadline and has sanctioned a move for the Finland international.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Brentford are willing to loan out Forss so that he can regular first-team football.

Hull are one of several Championship clubs to have made enquiries for the 22-year-old this month.

Forss has struggled for game time this season and has only made seven outings in the Premier League.

He has only started once in the competition as he sits firmly behind Ivan Toney in the pecking order.

During last season’s Championship campaign, he scored seven goals in 40 appearances as Brentford earned promotion via the play-offs.

Forss is a product of the West Brom academy but chose to leave the club and join Brentford’s academy in 2017.

He has made 75 appearances for the Bees after working his way through their ranks.

His only previous loan was a September 2019 move to Wimbledon where he hit the ground running and scored seven goals in his first seven games.

He is also a full Finland international, scoring twice in 11 outings for his country.

He won his first game in charge as his side beat Swansea 2-0 yesterday (29 January).

In other news, Bournemouth have raided another Championship club for an attacker.
