Sources: Hull City make move to sign Fulham star Sessegnon

Hull City are making a move for Fulham defender Steven Sessegnon before Monday’s transfer deadline, Football Insider understands.

Sessegnon, 21, is down the pecking order at Craven Cottage and has yet to figure in Marco Silva’s first team this season.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Hull are among a number of clubs keen on signing Sessegnon before the transfer window closes.

They have registered their interest in a deal and are keen to win the race by the deadline.

The right-back had a spell out on loan at Bristol City last season, making 18 appearances in total.

Sessegnon‘s Fulham contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

However, the west London side have the option to extend his Craven Cottage stay by a further year.

The defender, twin brother of Tottenham star Ryan, has been capped up at under-21 level by England.

Sessegnon was part of the famous Young Lions side who won the 2017 under-17 World Cup in India.

The London-born youngster has played 30 games at Championship level but is yet to make the bench under Silva this term as Fulham fly high in the second tier.

Sessegnon’s only football this term has come in Premier League 2, where he has been utilised in defensive midfield as well as his natural full-back role.

Hull City are trying to bolster their defensive options late on this month as new boss Shota Arveladze tries to steer the Tigers clear of relegation danger.
