Sources: Ian Maatsen expected to agree Chelsea deal after deadline day collapse
Chelsea remain hopeful Ian Maatsen will sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge, sources have told Football Insider.
Burnley wanted to sign the 21-year-old left-back in the summer window following his successful loan spell at Turf Moor last season.
The Clarets saw a bid accepted by Chelsea, but Maatsen rejected the move late in the transfer window.

Chelsea now expect the player to commit to a new deal, with his current contract set to expire at the end of this season.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Blues are “hopeful” Maatsen will renew at the club in order to protect his transfer value.
The Dutch youngster impressed during pre-season, catching the eye with performances at left-back, on the wing and in a playmaker role.
He made his second start of the season in the 1-0 win over Brighton in the League Cup on Wednesday (27 September), playing on the right flank.
Maatsen has come off the bench on four occasions in the Premier League having resurrected his career at Chelsea.
The Netherlands Under-21 star had a number of loan spells away from Stamford Bridge prior to Pochettino’s arrival – learning his craft in the EFL with Burnley, Coventry and Charlton.
He made 42 appearances at Turf Moor last season, notching four goals and six assists.

Maatsen is competing with Marc Cucurella and Ben Chilwell for a place in his natural left-back berth.
However, his versatility means he is the first port of call for Pochettino in a range of different roles.
