Sources: Javi Gracia sacked by Leeds – multiple dismissals done
Leeds United have sacked manager Javi Gracia after just 12 matches in the job, sources have told Football Insider.
The 50-year-old and his coaching staff have been into the club’s Thorp Arch training ground on Tuesday morning (2 May) but have now departed.
It is believed they have been told they have been dismissed with immediate effect.
On Monday (1 May), Football Insider revealed that Leeds chiefs have been locked in talks since Sunday night (30 April) trying to weigh up changes to preserve the club’s Premier League status.
It is believed that sporting director Victor Orta will also be relieved of his duties following a poor spending record in the transfer market this season.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (2 May) that former West Ham and Everton boss Sam Allardyce has been sounded out over a “firefighter” role just until the end of the season.
Allardyce, who has earned a reputation as a survival specialist, would land a sizeable bonus if he kept the club in the top flight.
Ex-Leeds midfielder Lee Bowyer, who most recently managed Birmingham, is also an option.
The Whites are outside the relegation zone by virtue of goal difference following their 4-1 loss away at Bournemouth on Sunday (30 April).
Leeds picked up just one point from a possible 15 in April, shipping 18 goals in the process – sealing Gracia’s fate.

They now face four games against Man City, Newcastle, West Ham and Tottenham in the final weeks of the 2022-23 season.
Gracia had only signed a contract until the end of the season after succeeding Jesse March in February but won just three of a possible 12 games in charge.
In other news, Leeds United and West Ham race to sign Ligue 1 star.
