Sources: Leeds United in advanced talks over Crysencio Summerville deal
Leeds United are in advanced talks with winger Crysencio Summerville over a new long-term deal at Elland Road, sources have told Football Insider.
Summerville, 20, who joined Leeds from Feyenoord in 2020, is in the final year of his current contract and the club are keen to secure his long-term future.
The skilful attacker is highly regarded within the corridors of power at Elland Road and talks are progressing over a new deal.
Summerville made six appearances in the Premier League last season off the bench after impressing for the club’s Under-23s.
The youngster was a number of players to make their senior breakthrough at Elland Road last term – with Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood, Lewis Bate, and Leo Hjelde among the most impressive starlets.
Summerville’s senior breakthrough came as a result of his impressive form at Under-23 level – where he has notched 13 goals and eight assists in 27 outings.
The winger also made his first appearances for the Netherlands’ Under-21 side last season – scoring once in his first three caps.
The 20-year-old primarily plays on the left flank but can also play on the left side.
Summerville failed to make his senior debut for previous club Feyenoord but racked up seven goals and four assists in 40 appearances on loan at FC Dordrecht and ADO Den Haag.
The Rotterdam-born ace could make his first league start for Leeds United this term following the big-money departure of Raphinha to Barcelona.
Former Feyenoord star Luis Sinisterra has been drafted in as a replacement, but the Colombian is primarily a left-sided winger.

Summerville has featured among the substitutes often during pre-season for Leeds United, and could reprise that role when the Premier League season gets underway.
The Whites face Wolves in their first game of the campaign on 6 August.
