Sources: Leeds United new priority signing revealed
Leeds United are set to prioritise a deal for a new left-back this month, sources have told Football Insider.
As revealed by Football Insider on Tuesday (9 January), Leeds are planning multiple loan signings this month as the race for promotion to the Premier League hots up.
Sam Byram has regularly played at left-back for Daniel Farke’s side this season following his free transfer arrival in the most recent summer window.

But Leeds are plotting to sign an upgrade on the ex-West Ham man, who started his senior career at Elland Road as a right-sided defender.
Junior Firpo is still on the Whites’ books despite relegation to the Championship last year but has featured sparingly this season due to injury problems.
Loanee Djed Spence also filled in for Farke’s side on the left side of the defence but was sent back to Tottenham earlier this month after failing to make the right impression at Elland Road.
Leeds could now recycle that loan spot to secure a deal for a proven, natural left-back until the end of the season.
Another priority for the Whites is keeping together the key elements of their squad – with top scorer Crysencio Summerville attracting attention from Premier League sides Brighton and Aston Villa.
However, Football Insider revealed on Sunday (7 January) that Summerville is “happy” and is in no rush to move on from Elland Road this month.

Farke’s side are fourth in the Championship table ahead of their next clash against Cardiff City on Saturday (13 January).
They are four points adrift of Southampton in third and seven adrift of second-place Ipswich Town.
