
Sources: Liverpool now want to complete defender signing
Liverpool will now turn their attention to signing a centre-back after completing a move for attacking midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, sources have told Football Insider.
The Merseysiders announced the arrival of Szoboszlai, 22, on Sunday (2 July) – with the ex-RB Leipzig star signing a five-year contract at Anfield.
Football Insider revealed on Saturday (1 July) that the deal will cost Liverpool in excess of £100million after his £60million release clause and £150,000-a-week wages are taken into account.
Nevertheless, it is believed the Reds are keen to press on with a move for a new centre-back.
Manager Jurgen Klopp is keen to bolster his defensive options with a new centre-back following a challenging 2022-23 campaign.
