Sources: Liverpool offered Neymar amid ‘£70m’ reveal

Liverpool have been offered the chance to sign Neymar as Paris Saint-Germain look to cash in on the Brazilian superstar, sources have told Football Insider.

Sources with knowledge of the situation have revealed a fee of £70-80million could be enough to bring the 31-year-old to the Premier League.

Man United, Man City and Newcastle have also been contacted about a possible blockbuster summer deal.

However, it is believed the Premier League giants feel a deal is unlikely due to the financial package required to make it happen – as well as the considerable baggage the former Barcelona star would bring.

Neymar’s attitude has been questioned throughout his time at PSG – with current boss Christophe Galtier publicly chastising the winger after a picture emerged of him making a late-night trip to a fast food restaurant.

Nevertheless, he has managed 18 goals and 17 assists in 29 appearances as a regular starter this season to mark one of the most productive seasons of his career.

The fourth-most capped Brazil star is under contract until 2025 after signing for PSG for a world-record £200million in 2017.

He has won four Ligue 1 titles during his time in Paris but is yet to lift the Champions League at the club – a feat which he achieved with Barcelona in 2015.

Liverpool are well-stocked in the wide attacking area after swooping for Netherlands international and World Cup breakout star Cody Gakpo in the January window.

Gakpo has already scored twice in the Premier League as Jurgen Klopp’s side eye a late surge into the top four.

The Merseysiders are seven points away from fourth-place Tottenham with two games in hand on the Lilywhites.
