Sources: Liverpool star Roberto Firmino lands ‘huge offer’ as giants make move

A Saudi Arabian club is submitting a “huge offer” to Liverpool star Roberto Firmino in a bid to beat Europe’s elite to his signature, sources have told Football Insider.

The 55-times Brazil international is set to be deluged with offers as a free agent after revealing he will quit Anfield when his contract expires this summer.

Football Insider broke the news earlier this week that Barcelona and Inter Milan have registered their interest in Firmino, 31, but they face strong competition to land him.

A Saudi Arabian club is also believed to be submitted a “huge offer” to Firmino as they look to lure him for a mega-money Middle East move where he would be playing in the same league as Cristiano Ronaldo.

Firmino will be weighing up over the coming weeks whether to continue his glittering career in a top European league, or take the riches on offer in the Middle East or potentially from an MLS club in the United States.

Firmino’s representative Roger Wittmann revealed in an exclusive interview with Football Insider last week that the player refused to hold talks with other clubs before deciding he will Liverpool leave on a free transfer this summer.

He communicated his decision last Wednesday to Wittmann before informing Jurgen Klopp at the club’s training ground before the news went public.

Firmino said he felt “unbelievably emotional” about leaving Liverpool and that was evident during his short cameo in Sunday’s sensational 7-0 Premier League win over Man United.

He came off the bench to score his team’s final goal and appeared to be in tears as he soaked in the adulation of the supporters and teammates.

It was Firmino’s 10th goal of what has been a season interrupted by two months out with a calf injury, while he has also chipped in with five assists from his 25 matches in all competitions.

During his eight years at Liverpool, the Brazilian has made 355 appearances that have yielded 108 goals and 79 assists.
