Sources: Liverpool told £100m bid for Aston Villa star Luiz will be accepted
Aston Villa will demand a fee of around £100million for star man Douglas Luiz in the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (15 January) that Liverpool are admirers of Luiz, 25, with La Liga giants Barcelona also ready to join the race for his signature.
Arsenal are also long-term admirers of the Brazil international and previously saw more than two bids rejected for him in 2022’s summer window.

Unai Emery has already hinted key players could be sold at Aston Villa for Financial Fair Play reasons going forward.
He said: “Of course we are not closed off to selling someone if a very good offer comes in and it gives us the possibility to improve our FFP position.”
Luiz is one of Villa’s prize assets and a well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Midlands giants will point to the £100million+ sales of Moises Caicedo and Declan Rice last summer when setting an asking price.
It is believed Villa want a similar figure when the time is right for the defensive midfielder to depart.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona are set to go head-to-head for Luiz’s signature at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
He has notched seven goals and six assists in 30 appearances across all competitions this season.
The 25-year-old has been at Villa Park since leaving Man City in 2019 and has racked up 181 appearances for the club, notching 19 goals and 20 assists.
Luiz will have just two years remaining on his contract with the Midlands giants in June after penning his most recent extension in October 2022.

Aston Villa received a £100million fee for attacker Jack Grealish in 2021, which was then a British-record transfer.
Emery’s side sit third in the Premier League after 21 games and are just two points away from first-place Liverpool.
