Sources: Major update on Liverpool bid to sign Danjuma in January as price tag revealed

Villarreal are planning to resist all offers for Liverpool target  Arnaut Danjuma in January, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Merseysiders have been keeping close tabs on the forward, 24, ahead of the winter window.

But an industry source has told Football insider that Spanish club Villarreal have told Danjuma they will not let him go in January.

That will be a blow to the Merseysiders as well as the other suitors of the electrifying wide man, whose valued has doubled since his £21million summer move.

Football Insider revealed on 1 October that Liverpool scouts watched Danjuma deliver a man-of-the-match display in his team’s 2-1 Champions League defeat at Man United.

He ran the home side ragged at Old Trafford with an electrifying performance that included an assist for Paco Alcacer’s goal after 53 minutes when he pulled back a cross from the byline.

Liverpool are among the clubs compiling a dossier on the attacker with a view to a potential transfer.

Danjuma has made a huge impression from Villarreal since joining from Bournemouth in the summer.

He has scored seven goals from 15 La Liga and Champions League matches as well as supplied two assists.

Operating mainly from the left flank, the Nigeria-born Holland international is also attracting interest from other Premier League clubs.

Danjuma joined Bournemouth from Club Brugge in the summer of 2019 for £14m.

He made 52 appearances for the Cherries across two seasons, scoring 17 goals and supplying eight assists in all competitions.
