Sources: Major update on Lucas Moura’s Tottenham future after Kulusevski latest

Tottenham have no plans to offload Lucas Moura this summer despite the big impact made by Dejan Kulusevski, Football Insider understands.

The Brazil star, 29, has lost his regular starting role to the loan star, 21, and last started a Premier League match on 13 February.

A Spurs source has told Football Insider that the club regard Moura as a key member of their squad and do not want to lose him.

Antonio Conte is also an admirer of the Brazilian’s match-winning qualities.

Moura signed a new contract in August 2019 that runs through to the summer of 2024.

Spurs are expected to try and sign Kulusevski permanently in the next window after the huge impact he has made on an initial loan.

The Juventus loanee has scored two goals and provided two assists in nine Premier League games this season.

In comparison, Moura has provided six goals and six assists across 37 total outings.

Four of those goals and assists came in the first months of Conte’s tenure.

However, the Italian still wanted to bolster his attacking options in the January window.

Kulusevski’s Spurs career got off to an impressive start as he scored in a 3-2 win at The Etihad and a 4-0 win away at Leeds during a run of games in mid-February.

The attacker’s form carried on into March and he was nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award on Thursday (24 March).

Moura has made 194 appearances for Tottenham since joining the club from PSG in January 2018.

He has 38 goals and 25 assists to his name.
