Sources: Major update on Man United’s January signings plan after board talks

Man United have no plans to sign any senior new players in January, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Premier League giants spent £135million on superstar trio Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane during the summer as well as funding their huge salaries.

A United source has now told Football Insider the club are not looking to add to the first-team squad in the winter window regardless of potential departures.

The Glazer-led board are said to have held internal talks about the January window in recent times.

Their stance is there has been enough investment in the team and it is up to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to mould the players at his disposal into an elite unit.

This is despite a mixed start to the season and the likelihood the club will be locked in a battle for a top-four Premier League finish rather than a title challenge.

The Red Devils are currently sixth in the table after losing three of their last four league fixtures.

The January window will instead be dominated by departures from Old Trafford.

As revealed by Football Insider (16th November), Dean Henderson is set to leave the club on loan in January.

The England international will exit on a temporary basis having struggled for game time since David de Gea’s revival.

Furthermore, Paul Pogba’s contract situation remains unresolved.

The France international, who is out of contract next year, will be able so sign a pre-contract with a foreign club from January.
