Sources: Major update on Newcastle United bid to sign Ismaila Sarr
Newcastle are not prioritising the signing of Watford winger Ismaila Sarr after he plummeted down their target list, Football Insider understands.
The Senegal international, 24, is expected to leave Vicarage Road following their relegation from the Premier League.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Sarr was on Newcastle’s list of targets, but the club’s recruitment team are set to move for other targets ahead of him.

The decision by the north-east giants opens the door for rival clubs, including the likes of Everton and Crystal Palace.
Sarr notched five goals and two assists in 22 Premier League games this term – but was excluded from the squad for the last three matches.
The 39-cap Senegal international, who won this year’s African Cup of Nations, is contracted at Vicarage Road until June 2024.
The winger came to Watford in 2019 for a reported £40million and scored five goals in his first Premier League campaign – but could not prevent the Hornets’ relegation.
He notched 13 goals and 10 assists last season to help the Hertfordshire club back to the top flight.
According to French outlet Jeunes Footeux (23 May), Watford will hold out for at least €35million (£29.6million) in order to part ways with Sarr this summer.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (21 May) that West Ham are stepping up their bid to sign Hornets striker Emmanuel Dennis as the exodus continues following their relegation.
Saudi-backed Newcastle United could spend big yet again this summer as their transformation under Eddie Howe ramps up.
