Sources: Malang Sarr is ready to quit Chelsea after decision made

Malang Sarr is ready to quit Chelsea in the January window, sources have told Football Insider.

The 24-year-old has not played a single minute of action for the Blues this season in any competition and his future at Stamford Bridge is up in the air.

The defender has decided to seek a new club this winter with a loan or permanent move both possible.

It is believed that there is interest from Turkish clubs in the centre-back and Chelsea would be willing to let him go if terms can be agreed.

Sarr has made just 21 appearances for the London club since his free move in the summer of 2020 after the expiration of his contract at Ligue 1 outfit Nice.

He has been shipped out on two loans while at Chelsea to Porto and Monaco but has was never more than a squad player at any of these sides.

Sarr gained recognition for his spell at Nice, where he earned 119 appearances across four seasons in the first team, notching three goals and three assists.

While on loan at Monaco last season, the 6ft defender underwent surgery in May and did not feature for the French side in their last 10 league fixtures.

In his one full campaign at Chelsea in the 2021-22 season, he was used sparingly in the Premier League and made just eight appearances but was a regular in both cup competitions.
