Sources: Man City line up £90m record Grealish bid after talks held
Man City are lining up a £90million bid for Aston Villa star man Jack Grealish, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The end of the European Championships signals the start gun for some potential blockbuster deals that will create a chain effect of summer transfers.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that chief among those is City’s swoop for Grealish and their willingness to pay a British record sum to seal a deal.
A £90m offer would be more than the £89.5million Man United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba in 2016, which remains the highest by a Premier League club.
City have spent months laying the groundwork for a Grealish deal.
This site revealed on 2nd April that the Villa talisman is top of Pep Guardiola’s target list and the club were willing to pay a huge sum to get their man.

In turn, Grealish’s head has been turned by the strength of City’s interest behind the scenes.
A deal is not yet done, or indeed close, but the Premier League champions are insistent and have set aside vast funds to get it finalised.
Significantly, Grealish wants to play regularly in the Champions League as well as develop his game under master coach Pep Guardiola.
It is a delicate situation for Grealish, who is a boyhood Villa fan and has spent his entire career at the club where he is idolised by supporters.
There has been talk of a £100m valuation, but it may not take as much as that to lure the England international from the Midlands giants.
Grealish signed a new five-year contract last September that runs until the summer of 2025.
