Sources: Man City scouts blown away by sensation Gui Ruck

Man City have been regularly scouting Real Valladolid sensation Gui Ruck, sources have told Football Insider.

The young midfielder, born in 2009, has emerged on the radar of numerous elite clubs with Real Madrid also understood to be tracking him closely.

Sources say that City’s scouting team have watched the Brazilian wonderkid on multiple occasions with talent spotters describing him as a “future superstar” with the potential to play at Champions League level.

Ruck’s contract at Real Valladolid is set to expire at the end of the season allowing him to leave in the summer as a free agent.

Signing Ruck will require a compensation fee to be paid.

City have focused on recruiting young talent since their takeover in 2008, with over £200million spent on building a new academy in 2014.

The Manchester giants have already seen the results of their investment with Phil Foden and Cole Palmer among a growing number of City products to become Premier League regulars.

As revealed by Football Insider in July, City have earned £115million from selling academy players in the last three years.

Ruck may be the latest star to join City’s prosperous academy if he signs with the club in the summer.

The youngster’s youth career has mostly been based in Portugal with Vitoria Guimaraes taking him into their youth system in 2018.

He moved to Braga and Porto before making the switch to Spain in 2020 when he joined the academy of Rayo Majadahonda and then Valladolid in 2022.
